Embodied Grief / Utilizing Yoga + Mindfulness as Tools to Support the Grieving

This workshop is for any BODY who holds space for the grieving, including clinicians,bereavement counselors, educators, nurses, body workers, health coaches, yoga instructors and more. 

Course intentions + objectives include:

  • Define grief and loss, including complicated and traumatic grief 

  • Learn how grief affects our body-mind [physiology, energetic body, emotions and cognition] 

  • Discuss societal norms/taboos [including the art of empathy] and their influence on healing and access to support

  • Learn how yoga and mindfulness practices impact central nervous system, vagal nerve and stress response function to manage grief- related symptoms

  • Experience and practice- teach breathing [pranayama], yoga postures [asana] and mindfulness that you can integrate into your work with clients in a variety of settings

Stay for a complimentary restorative yoga practice to further embody the healing nature of these practices, and to indulge in an act of radical self care to nurture your soul. No yoga experience necessary/ accessible to all abilities. Please bring along a mat if you have one.
