* BAVI IS NOT a Yoga Alliance Registered program. *

We are very upfront and honest about this choice.

YA does not represent the ethics and inclusivity we work to embody. They do not provide adequate introspection, regulations and supervision to meet our standards in support and trainings.

YA is not a governing body. They are not a certification body. They are simply a "criteria based model" which BAVI meets and exceeds their education standards.

BAVI has been carefully curated, offering a unique extensive program, rich with knowledge, exploring the depths of yoga roots, culture, principles, asana, various styles of practices + teachings, so you leave with a wealth of information and a network of resources to rely on. BAVI meets and and goes above the YA standards for a 200hr training program.

A YA certified program is not required by all studios to teach, but we can not guarantee a studio will not ask you.

Upon completion graduates will receive a certification of completion for BAVI 200 hour yoga teacher immersion program from HARVEST yoga + wellness studio, and lead teachers Megan Davis + Tracey Duncko.

We would love to talk this through with you if you have any additional questions.

Yoga for Healing/ trauma informed movement class

Yoga for Healing/ trauma informed movement class

Our bodies have an amazing, innate ability to survive overwhelming circumstances. In fact, we are hard-wired for survival from birth. Our physical response to trauma and stress is instinctual; it just happens. Sometimes, that survival mechanism is so powerful that it stays turned "on" even after the threat or stress has passed. Other times, the stress is ongoing or chronic. This creates imbalance, or separation, between our mind, body and spirit. Residue of the trauma negatively affects thoughts, emotions, hormones, sleep patterns, immunity and relationships.

Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to mitigate these imbalances by activating the mechanisms that calm, soothe and re-integrate our mind and body, when offered through a trauma informed lens.

This trauma informed offering includes yoga based movement, breathing and somatic exercises to support nervous system regulation. Students are encouraged to engage with curiosity vs. judgment, and to make choices around what feels useful for them moment to moment, throughout the class.

Accessible to all levels, no yoga experience needed- all are welcome.

** BAVI IS NOT a Yoga Alliance Registered program

The global yoga landscape is changing and our bold belief is while YA may have started out as a well-intentioned "non-profit", but they are outdated. They do not represent the ethics and inclusivity we work to embody. They do not provide adequate introspection, regulations and supervision to meet our standards in support and trainings.

YA is not a governing body. They are not a certification body. They are simply a "criteria based model" which BAVI meets and exceeds their education standards.

BAVI has been carefully curated over the last year, offering a unique extensive program, rich with knowledge, exploring the depths of yoga roots, culture, principles, asana, various styles of practices + teachings, so you leave with a wealth of information and a network of resources to rely on.

Almost all studios dont ask or care if your certification program was registered by YA, but of course we can not guarantee.

Upon completion you will receive a certification of completion for BAVI 200 hour yoga teacher immersion  program from us.

We would love to talk this through with you if you have any additional questions.

Yoga for Healing / trauma informed practices for resilience

Yoga for Healing / trauma informed practices for resilience

Our bodies have an amazing, innate ability to survive overwhelming circumstances. In fact, we are hard-wired for survival from birth. Our physical response to trauma and stress is instinctual; it just happens. Sometimes, that survival mechanism is so powerful that is stays turned "on" even after the threat or stress has passed. Other times, the stress is ongoing or chronic. This creates imbalance, or separation, between our mind, body and spirit. Residue of the trauma negatively affects thoughts, emotions, hormones, sleep patterns, immunity and relationships.

Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to positively impact these imbalances by activating the mechanisms that calm, soothe and re-integrate our mind and body.

This class includes gentle yoga poses, breathing and mindfulness exercises that ground and center the body. Practices will be offered as tools to build strength, flexibility and self awareness ( noticing sensation). Students are encouraged to move with curiosity vs. judgment, and make choices around what feels useful for them throughout the class.

The intention is to hold space and empower individuals to reclaim their bodies and build a set of self care practices that support them on their path toward healing. Accessible to all levels, no yoga experience needed. Ages 17 and up
