Trauma Informed Yoga

Stress and trauma create imbalance, or separation, between our mind, body and spirit. The residue of trauma can impact thoughts, emotions, hormones, sleep patterns, immunity and relationships. Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to restore this imbalance, working with our stress response system to calm, soothe and re-integrate our mind -body. This class includes gentle yoga poses, breathing and mindfulness exercises, accessible to all. Students are encouraged to move with curiosity vs. judgment, and make choices around what feels useful for them throughout the class.The intention is to empower individuals to reclaim their bodies and build a set of self care practices that support them on their path toward healing. Accessible to all levels, no yoga experience needed. Ages 16 and up.
